FAQS:

-When do we practice? Practices will be announced after tryout weekend. We will be assessing our number of teams across age groups for NIT and then assigning training times. Times will most fall between 9-2pm on Sundays. There may also be some added Saturday evenings. There are NO trainings over winter break except the Sunday before schools return (January 5.)

-Where do we practice? Practices will be at Father Gabriel Richard, Saline Middle School, Liberty School in Saline, Heritage School in Saline and/or the Coliseum at U of M.

-Do I need separate equipment? Yes, you need an indoor stick and a full left handed glove. Sneaker or court shoes.  Shin guards, mouth guard and a PCD mask. We will not be providing masks for teams and players. Players must have their own mask.

-Can I tryout for another age group? You can tryout out for one age group above your current age group; HOWEVER, if you are trying out you want a spot! We do not want people trying out just to tryout and get a training session. Indoor teams are much smaller and we do not want people trying out and then declining as it changes teams and placements.

-Do I need to attend both tryouts if I am trying out for more than one age group? YES! You must attend all tryouts.

-I can't make the tryout Is there another chance to tryout? No. You must prioritize the tryout and attend the tryout to be considered for a team.

-What if I am injured and can’t make the tryout? Or if I wake up sick on the day of the tryout? You can get an injury/sickness waiver and turn it in to FDL Staff. We will arrange an alternative if you are injured or sick.

-I have heard this Phase is different. How so? Phase 2 is an ALL IN Phase. You must attend all practices (2 absences allow), ALL PLAY DAYS, NIT qualifiers for U16 & U19 teams. If you can't commit to this, you are not eligible for NITs and should not tryout.

-Are there other events to travel to for Phase 2? Yes, there are friendly play days at Spooky Nook Ohio. We try to offer this opportunity to players who are NOT attending NIT.

-I am going to Disney/Sunshine Tournament. Do I have to do Phase 2? No. Disney is an outdoor tournament and you do not have to do Phase 2 to attend Disney.

-How many teams will you take in each age group? We will make this decision after tryouts. We will make teams based on who we believe is at the level to compete at a National Tournament.

-My player has never done indoor. What should we do? You have to start somewhere. It is the same skill set, just faster and with more rules to keep the game safe. Players usually pick up on it fast. GLRFH also has an indoor league you can join as well as a one day tournament.

-Is FDL doing GLRFH Indoor programs? Unfortunately not. It does not line up with our training calendar. You are more than welcome to enter your own team and take advantage if this opportunity.

-I see U16 has two NIT Qualifiers which one will my player go to? We will announce all placements after tryouts.

-How will I know if my player made a team? We will send invites to register for an NIT team directly from LeagueApps. If your players is not selected, they will also receive an email. Reminder-you can still train in Phase 2 if you are not selected to NIT.  We will send this information the week after tryouts.

-How much does it cost? NIT teams are smaller- 7-11 players. Due to smaller numbers cost is higher per player. U10, U12 & U14 NIT selected players will have a $495 club fee which includes all training, both play days in OH and NIT.  U16 and U19 NIT selected players will have a $495 club fee which includes all training, both play days in OH and NITQ. If your team qualifies for NIT there will be an additional $150 charge. Players not selected for NITs or choosing not to do NITs will have a $275 club fee which includes Phase 2 training and OH play days.

-Are there privates and small groups during Phase 2? Yes, we usually do offer these but we will not know until mid-December when the slots are. We aim for Monday-Wednesday and these are on a gym surface where we train indoor skills, not outdoor skills inside.
